Sagi Erez was born and raised on a kibbutz in the north of Israel. He now resides in Jersey City, New Jersey.

"My childhood was spent mostly outdoors in a natural setting where nature and farm life were very influential. From a young age, my mother would take me to the pottery barn. While she worked on pots, I would sculpt little animals out of clay. Later in life, I rediscovered my love for sculpting through needle felting. Sculpting with wool is a slow process, results do not appear immediately and forms can sometimes take many hours to be realized. I find this craft to be a way to concentrate the attention, quiet the mind, and be fully engaged with the development of a creation that is unexpected and surprisingly full of life."
